We invite applicants to attend Adriatica2020 on “Brain, Body and Adaptive Behaviour”, a joint initiative of the Department of Neuroscience, Imaging and Clinical Sciences at the University of Chieti-Pescara and the Department of Psychology, Sapienza University of Rome.

Venue

Adriatica2020 will take place in the Pescara province, Italy, at a wonderful four-star hotel by the Adriatic Sea.

Topics

Adriatica2020 will address, in a multi-scale approach, the brain-body interactions that support human adaptive behavior. More specifically, some of the topics we will cover are the following:

  • How interoceptive signals contribute to the brain’s intrinsic and evoked dynamics and to disorders of self-regulation;
  • What are the neural dynamics underlying perceptual, attentional and action anticipation serving social adaptive behavior;
  • How body representations change in older age and clinical conditions;
  • Bayesian models of perception, cognition and mental illness.

Adriatica2020 is structured as a study retreat and the programme will give the students the opportunity to debate with world-leading experts from different fields: experimental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, neurophysiology, physics and neural modelling. Moreover, the students will work on a “mock” research project under the supervision of the same experts.
